L'Ormarins Best Dressed at Glorious Goodwood - EVENT

To celebrate a new racing partnership with wine label L'Ormarins, the prestigious Glorious Goodwood festival has introduced a best dressed competition for the first time, to take place on Friday, August 1.Dress in the signature colours of sponsor L'Ormarins for a chance to become Glorious Goodwood's Best Dressed Lady.The judges will be specifically scouting for the best dressed lady in L'Ormarins' signature colours of blue and white, which are donned by nearly all attendees at Cape Town's premier race meeting, the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate. Best Dressed Lady Competition at Sandown Park - EVENT

Sandown Park's Ladies' Day - the precursor to their major Coral-Eclipse raceday - just happens to fall on July 4th this year. So to mark the occasion, Sandown is rolling out the welcome mat to American expats by offering half-price entry for all who bear a valid US passport.And they've also introduced a little American flavour into their anticipated Best Dressed competition by encouraging entrants to wear the colours of the US flag (that's red, white and blue - wear them individually or all together). As the racing season winds to a close in Australia, it's just starting to get into gear here in the UK. June's first major racing action comes from the Investec Derby Festival at Epsom Downs Racecourse, which starts tomorrow with the fillies' classic, the Oaks.Fillies of the two-legged variety will also be competing for honours in the Harvey Nichols Best Dressed competition, which will award the most stylish with a generous £5,000 shopping spree at the very classy Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge.Last year's finalists in the Harvey Nichols Best Dressed competition at Epsom Downs.Last year's lucky winner was Leigh Johnson, who scooped the coveted prize with an elegant Roland Mouret form-fitting dress and a hat she made herself, featuring an explosion of bold feathers.2013 What Best to Wear winner Leigh Johson (left) with Paula Reed from Harvey Nichols.Harvey Nichols scouts will be roaming the racecourse and selecting ladies to participate in the competition.
